Press for Grand Prix's latest album " The Speed of Sound" on Arch Hill Records

GRAND PRIX - The Speed of Sound (Arch Hill)
This is Grand Prix's fourth album and yet, it sounds fresh like some other band's debut would. It seems, Grand Prix like to change what they sound like, just enough, each time, to keep things fresh and interesting - but here, on record number four, I really think they have out-done themselves, I'd go so far as saying, it's my favorite Grand Prix record to date. There's an unashamed nod to seventies rock throughout - not in a "wow-aren't-we-wacky-we're-playing-music-that-sounds-like-the-seventies-but we-werent-even-born-then-we're-Wolfmother" kinda way - but in a much more organic, honest and gutsy way. Fuck, this shiz makes me buy a combi van and just go on a road trip, pick up some sweet-babe hitchhikers, smoke some weed, drop out of society and start a commune somewhere. Like, actually, really. Think about it - wanna come for a ride? (Sweet-babe hitch-hikers (preferably in those hot cut off jeans that Daisy Duke used to wear) need only apply).
