THE RASCAL KINGS W/ MISS RED AND FRIENDS

The Rascal Kings is a name that has been kicking around since 2002 as a
side project for Danny Rodda ex frontman for Monkey Puzzle (Headliners
Queenstown Winterfest 2001, 4 appearances at Vodafone X-Air, Tour support for
SNFU, Horace Pinker and Creed, and over 100 000 albums worldwide in their 10
year reign of terror).

The first very brief line-up of The Rascal Kings also included Daniel Burmeister
of The Outsiders for about a month in 2002.

The next appearance of TRK was in 2007 as a side project for Danny’s next band
Faster She Said (Winners WBOB 2007, Headline NZI 7s Courtney Street Party
2008)

In 2009 Danny met Aaron ‘Tank’ Shirriffs (Bass, Vocals) through a mutual
friend…(that old musical cliché) and history was re-written and The Rascal Kings
were officially born as a fulltime band.

After a shaky start for the first 12-18 months drummer Johnny Rober’t was
recruited and things kicked into high gear…for 6 months…at which point
Johnny severed 3 fingers and the better part of his right hand in an industrial
accident…all looked pretty bleak, but in true DIY Kiwi fashion Danny managed to,
first, utilise electrical tape to aid Johnny to hold his stick and in this way the band
headed into STL Audio with the amazing and talented Troy Kelly at the desk and
Jimmy Christmas (The D4, Luger Boa) in the producers chair to record the bones
of an E.P which is scheduled for release in March 2012 with the first Single due
to hit the airwaves on March 8th (Danny’s Birthday).

Since then a new glove has been designed to hold the stick in Johnny’s hand and
he continues to dominate as one of the finest Rock drummers in NZ.

This weekends event at Bodega also see The Rascals teaming up with Danny’s
wife MisRed (current Miss Bombshell Burlesque and Miss Cheesecake)
who made her performance debut with the band in November 2010 at the
Tankapalooza Festival in Palmerston North (headlined by The Rascal Kings in
2010 and co-headlined by The Rascals and Luger Boa in 2011)

MisRed will be competeing at the Miss Burlesque NZ final in Hamilton in March
and has just been invited to perform at the Kansas Burlesque Festival in the U.S.A
in April, the first NZ Burlesque performer to ever be invited, she will also be
giving performances and workshops in both Kansas and Texas as part of the mini

World Tour.

Danny Rascal, who will be accompanying her on the trip has also been booked
to play a few acoustic shows in Houston Texas and Kansas City and will be using
this time to promote the new E.P and Single to U.S radio.

The Rascal Kings are Danny Rascal – Vocals and Guitar, Aaron ‘Tank” Shirriffs –
Bass and Vocals, Johnny Rober’t – Drums.

Other performers on the night will be Atomic Ruby (Miss Baby Bombshell 2011)
and LadySin Quana.
